Carding
The aim of carding is to arrange the fibres in a single, parallel direction using a special machine featuring rollers and teeth called a carding set. The fibres are untangled and longitudinally oriented until a web of parallel fibres is gradually produced, which is then transformed into carded sliver (flat) and then in the last part of the machine, known as a “tape condenser” into rovings (cylindrical) so that it is ready for the subsequent phases of spinning and winding. Our OCTIR 2500 mm carding set is made up of carriage and five cards feeding three tape condensers to obtain greater carding power and maximum regularity of count.
